Terms of service

Last updated: 12 October 2026

These are the simple ground rules for travelling with us. We've kept them short and plain. If anything is unclear, ask us before you book.

The short version
  • The trips on this site are samples. Your own plan and cost come on WhatsApp.
  • Your trip is booked once you've paid the 30% advance.
  • Forests, weather and roads decide some things. We'll always tell you what can't be promised.

1. Sample plans and your plan

The trips on this website show the kind of trip we run. Your own plan, with every day, every stay and the full cost, is sent to you on WhatsApp. That plan is what we both go by.

2. Booking and paying

Your trip is booked once you've paid the 30% advance. The rest is paid during the trip. The details are on our payment terms page. If you need to cancel or move your trip, see cancellation and refunds.

3. What depends on others

Some parts of a trip are decided by the forest department, the railways or the weather, not by us:

  • Safaris, park entry, toy train and ropeway. Subject to availability. We help you book where possible, or you can book directly. Tickets are paid at actuals unless your plan says otherwise.
  • Elephant rides. Elephant rides are very limited and can't be guaranteed. We'll try, and plan a jeep safari as the backup.
  • Forest walks and guided hikes. Open subject to forest department rules on the day. Guides arranged on request.
  • Sunrises and mountain views. Weather permitting. Clear mornings are most likely from October to December.
  • Border visits. Need valid ID and are subject to border rules on the day. Ask us before you travel.
  • Stays. Stays are matched to your budget and confirmed in writing before you pay. If a stay is full, we offer one of a similar standard.

4. Changes on the road

Routes and timings sometimes change for safety, road conditions, weather or official orders. When that happens, we'll tell you why and offer the closest good option. Our drivers make the final call on whether a road is safe to drive.

5. What we ask of you

  • Carry a valid photo ID for every traveller.
  • Follow forest and local rules, and our guides' instructions inside parks.
  • Be ready on time for early safaris and sunrise drives. Slots don't wait.
  • Tell us about any health needs, and the ages of everyone travelling, before the trip.
  • For walks and treks, check you're fit enough. Ask us how hard a walk is if you're not sure.
  • Look after the places we visit: no litter, no loud music in forests, and no feeding wild animals.

6. Things outside anyone's control

Landslides, floods, strikes, road closures and official orders can delay or change a trip. We'll do everything we can to keep you comfortable and safe. If this means extra costs, like an extra night or a longer route, we'll talk to you first and charge only the actual cost, with nothing added.

7. Children and extra people

Tell us everyone's ages when you enquire. We price children and extra people clearly in your plan, so there are no surprises later.

8. Photos

We'd love to share photos from your trip, but we'll always ask you first.

9. Who is responsible for what

We're responsible for what we do ourselves: planning your trip, our own vehicles and drivers, and the bookings we make for you. Hotels, homestays, parks, permit offices, the toy train and other services are run by others under their own rules. We choose the ones we work with carefully, and if something goes wrong with one of them, we'll help you sort it out.

10. If something goes wrong

Tell us straight away on WhatsApp or by phone, so we can try to fix it during the trip. If you're still not happy, write to us at torsatrails@gmail.com and we'll reply within 48 hours.

11. The law that applies

These terms follow Indian law. Nothing in them takes away any rights you have under Indian consumer law.

Something not clear?

Ask us on WhatsApp or give us a call. We reply within 1 to 2 hours.
